Elizabeth Benson

Elizabeth Benson believes TravelMBA is a perfect blend of two of her interests: international travel and experiential learning in higher education. Prior to joining the TravelMBA team, she worked at Harvard Business School and Georgetown University.

At HBS, Elizabeth was part of the team that launched the Immersion Experience Program, IXP, which allows students to get outside of the classroom and experience global business challenges in a hands-on learning environment. There, Elizabeth enjoyed working as a TravelMBA client.

Most recently, at Georgetown University, Elizabeth was the Manager of Recruiting programs at the Career Education Center. She enjoyed the creative problem solving of working with students and employers in a changing job market.

Elizabeth received her undergraduate degree in Merchandising from Florida State. She completed graduate level coursework at Harvard University in higher education management.

Elizabeth attributes her Florida upbringing to loving destinations with lots of heat and humidity including: Australia, Tahiti, and Europe in the summer. One of her favorite travel experiences was spending five weeks backpacking through Europe with her husband on their honeymoon. Elizabeth's hobbies include painting, southern cooking, and saltwater fishing. Elizabeth lives outside of Washington, DC, with her husband and two daughters.
