MBAs focus on Dubai as a 21st century financial and commercial hub

MBA residencies to Dubai mirror everything else in the United Arab Emirates: Full throttle. Until a few years ago, Dubai wasn't on the immersion radar screen for any top business school. But today, most high profile MBA programs have some kind of Dubai presence. Located on the sunny shores of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai has grown from little more than a desert outpost to a world-class financial, transportation, and tourism hub in only 15 years. Despite changes in the world financial markets, corporations know that a presence in Dubai or one of the other Gulf Cooperation Council nations is essential to being a player in the global economy.
Schools planning immersions to Dubai usually pair it with another country in the region. Qatar provides a nice complement to Dubai's frenetic state in a comfortable environment. Bahrain and Kuwait are a bit more rugged, but show the potential to be major future players in the region. For those wishing to contrast Dubai with an older Middle East economy, Dubai/Egypt, Dubai/Jordan, or Dubai/Turkey make for interesting pairings.

TravelMBA has sent groups to most countries in the region and would be happy to work with your program to design the best blend for your business needs.
