China retains its position as the top destination for MBA residencies

With a population of more than 1.3 billion, China is the world’s biggest and fastest evolving marketplace. Global corporations are constantly seeking ways to tap into China either directly or in partnership with Chinese companies. Doing business in China requires navigation of both complex governmental regulations and societal norms. Learning how to bridge the cross-cultural communication divide can make the difference between success and failure.
More MBA programs send residencies to China each year than to any other country. TravelMBA has the expertise to help make your immersion a success, starting with selection of cities. Most schools anchor their trips in Shanghai and Beijing – the financial and political/cultural capitals, respectively. But our clients also look at additional destinations to round out their program. Hong Kong, simultaneously part of China yet distinct from it, is a common destination. Chengdu, Chongqing or Kunming provide opportunities to learn about Chinese business closer to the western frontier. Guangzhou and Qingdao to the east are also sometimes imbedded in group itineraries. For weekend escapes, Xi’an or Guilin are popular choices. And for those with a bit more time, Tibet can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Regardless of the duration and structure, TravelMBA will work with you to build a China program to meet your needs.
