Amanda Laird

Amanda Laird joined TravelMBA in 2005 following eight years with University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School. Amanda is a North Carolina native and earned her undergraduate degree in French from East Carolina University. She completed her graduate degree in international studies at NC State.

Prior to joining Kenan-Flagler, Amanda spent four years serving as Operations Manager for an emergency travel assistance company in Washington and also served as Expatriate Manager for a French company near Raleigh. At Kenan-Flagler, Amanda worked in the Office of International Programs, concluding with a three-year stint as Associate Director. In that capacity, she managed the day-to-day activities of the International Office including the MBA Exchange Program, Global Immersion Electives, the International Internship Program, and the International Practicum Program. During that time, Amanda also played leadership roles in the Partnership in International Management (PIM) consortium of global business schools.

Amanda has traveled extensively during her career and has spent time living in Paris. She and her husband live in Durham, North Carolina, where she enjoys cooking, gardening, bluegrass music and kayaking. Amanda also brews her own beer.
