The core of TravelMBA’s service offerings are Academic Study trips.

In these programs, students typically spend 6 to 10 weeks studying the business practices of a country or region before traveling to the area for one to two weeks.     While in country, students visit with business, professional, and governmental leaders in meetings arranged through faculty or alumni contacts.

These programs, sometimes called residencies, are increasingly becoming part of the core curriculum at MBA schools.

Schools offer several flavors of academic study programs, including:

• Survey courses designed to expose students to managers at a wide range of businesses in the target country or countries.     Typically, these programs will visit 2 to 3 cities during their travel window.
• Consulting courses designed to focus students on the needs particular company or industry.     Frequently, these programs visit only one city, with a possible weekend excursion to a leisure destination.
• Conference-style courses where selected speakers come to the group hotel or conference facility to share information about their company or industry in a classroom or panel setting.

For academic study programs, TravelMBA managers typically arrange international airfare, regional/domestic airfare, hotel accommodations, conference rooms, ground transportation, cultural activities, and restaurants for group lunches or dinners.       Since every school’s approach and philosophy is different, our services vary based on the specific needs of our clients.

Depending on the time of year and academic requirements before and after the program, TravelMBA can work with students and faculty on pre- or post-trip extensions in the region of travel.
